Like many when they discovered the #MeToo Movement, Olivia found herself an avid supporter of it. And like many, she still struggled to use those same words for the experiences of her own life, setting aside her memories and instead focusing on those of others. As an editor of writing focused on abuse survival, Olivia suddenly began softly thinking those words to herself as she worked on others’ manuscripts, until one day she knew it was time to tell her own story of abuse and assault and what life’s really like on the other side.

A memoir and a call to action for survivor advocates, This, Too: All Our Stories Matter urges those who fight to end sexual violence to take a closer look at the earliest stages of abuse and how so much is able to proliferate unnoticed. Through her story, Olivia is fighting for a world in which survivors of all kinds of abuse are treated as equals, even when their trauma varies. If our #MeToo stories are about community and solidarity, then so is this, too.

A story of discovering how our relationships can define chapters of our lives, Almost: A Memoir of Belonging takes you by the hand to walk alongside Olivia as she is thrust unexpectedly into the past and is forced to face memories she never wanted to have. Realizing she has the power to change the future for herself and her children, Olivia embarks on a journey of healing and breaking generational cycles.
